Senator Frank Church of Idaho criticizes Nixon policy and Vietnamization. He recalls opposing the war in 1965 with George McGovern and asserts public memory is short. Church warns against political timing and warns a Nixon landslide could threaten national interest amid peace developments.
A 12 year old Newport girl Terri L Noble was killed near Spokane five miles north on U S Highway 195. Her mother Mrs Richard Noble 34 was driving south when a northbound car tried to pass another vehicle and forced her off the road.
Three month old Cindy Whistler of Sandpoint was injured when she fell from a moving car at Fifth and Cedar. Debra McClain, 15, also fell from the vehicle driven by Dixie Lee Bowman. The infant was taken to Bonner General Hospital with bruises.
William Bud Davis, candidate for U S Senate, told Daily Bee in Sandpoint he is relieved the cease fire has been settled after three years and 11 months seeking an accord. He cited sportsmen's issues, dam bills, and criticisms of Rep. McClure, urging soutien for Church ideas on Snake River protections.
The Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce will host its annual dinner and installation of officers on Monday November 6 1972 at the Pastime Cafe. Social hour begins 6 30 p m with dinner at 7 30 p m Tickets are 3 50 a plate and available from directors or the Chamber office The program will focus on Expo 74 and the public is invited.
Frank Rounsville of Hope was beaten and robbed by two hitchhikers near the Pack River Bridge on SE 200. He reported to work Thursday at Georgia Pacific after lying by the bridge overnight. About $200 in twenty dollar bills was taken. he said the suspects were headed to Montana.
