Bonner County Planning Commission denies Buck rezoning requests

The Bonner County Planning Commission met in the County Courthouse and considered twelve proposals. Doris Buck’s land south of the Wagon Bridge Inn was denied a rezoning from agricultural suburban to commercial. The commission cited land adjacent to existing commercial structures and prudent land use to keep the area residential to avoid a highway-wide rezoning trend. A Glengary-area petition to rezone from agricultural suburban to restricted residential was approved to limit further commercialization amid pollution and noise concerns. Henry Pondorff opposed, fearing devaluation, but the panel found restricted residential would not stop his corporate retreat usage. A preliminary First Addition to the Pendar Idaho Tracts was postponed for field inspection due to road, water, flood, and rock concerns. Hill’s Lots in the Priest Lake area got approval for development with good road access.
