Logging Mishap Injures Youth Near Spirit Lake
A Sandpoint youth, 18 year old Richard L. Dexter, suffered severe head injuries in a logging accident near Spirit Lake Thursday at about 10 am. Dexter, employed by Clyde Handler Co. of Coeur d Alene, was treated at Kootenai Memorial Hospital and later moved to Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane. He survived a fatal car train crash last year that killed Dwight Howell.

New Money Order System Slated for Sandpoint
The U S Postal Service will introduce a new money order system in Sandpoint on October 13 to cut fees and boost safety.
