Thanksgiving Lunch for 1125 Pupils Across Five Schools

At Old Farming school kitchen Susan Weisz and Edna Spade started at 4 a.m. to prepare a Thanksgiving feast for 1,125 pupils across five schools. Pat Stevens assists as regular staff. Celia Elder joined, boosting daily noon meals to 525. Volunteers Evelyn McIntyre Lois Havilande and Vivian Willford helped. Menu included Roast Turkey Mashed Potatoes Cranberry Sauce Green Salad Bread and Butter Sandwiches Milk and Ice Cream Bars served at New and Old Farmin in Washington and the Junior High.

Kick Off Meet Planned at Elks Club in Selkirk District

Selkirk District Boy Scout leaders announce a kickoff meeting with coffee and doughnuts from 7 to 8 a.m. Monday November 24 at the Elk's Temple. The Sustaining Membership Program letters went out in November to friends of scouting to support 1969 operations and 1970 funds. Wayne Goin, membership chairman, urges support to sustain the Scout program and youth leadership through Den Mothers, Cubmasters, Scoutmasters, and Explorer Advisors. Archie Moore's remarks at Faragu last summer are cited to emphasize youth leadership in the next decade.

Public Utilities considers General Telephone rate request

Idaho Public Utilities Commission has taken under advisement a General Telephone Company request for a northern Idaho rate increase totaling 909000 dollars annually. After seven hearings, complaints focused on rural multi party lines and service, with the commission delaying a ruling pending further field checks by its staff.
