Diamond National Move Updates Albeni Falls Plant Office

The Albeni Falls plant staff relocates to a new 1710 square foot all wood office built by Bob Gibbs, replacing the old ramshackle 1907 building. John Airport notes the move improves foundation issues, level floors, and a fireproof records room, while cedar and other local lumber species feature inside. The building displays Diamond International insignia and awaits January furniture, with butcher paper covering windows due to finishing delays.

Family Fun Night by SHS Ski Club at the high school gym

The Schweitzer Basin lift ticket drawing will be held during an SHS Ski Club event at Sandpoint High School Gym on Thursday at 7 30 p m. Tickets sold at the door. Ski movies, a fashion show of local ski gear, and refreshments provided by local merchants.

PTA Prize Winners Announced in Local Drawing

Lola Tucker of 328 S Florence won a hind quarter of beef in the Farmin PTA drawing held November 17. Janet Parkinshams and Margaret Bergstrom each claimed a front quarter of beef along with Mrs S E Kernodle. Turkeys remain for Bernice Lundgren Mrs Bud Hadley and Harold Pellens to pick up.

Schweitzer Ski Vacation on Dating Game Promotes Sandpoint

Schweitzer Basin ski area near Sandpoint and Lake Pend Oreille residents will gain national exposure when the Dating Game airs Friday afternoon November 28. The prize is a three day skiing vacation for the winning couple and a chaperone. ABCs 2:30 PM telecast reaches an estimated 13 million homes. Local sponsors include Schweitzer Basin, Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce, Trainers Motel and Trainers Restaurant, with backing from Idaho Department of Commerce and Development.

Budget Director Faces Salary Raise Dilemma in Idaho

Boise United Press International reports Acting Budget Director Edward Sawyer may present a general class pay raise proposal to the legislature next year due to questions about funds. Several department heads have already received raises since July 1, with notable boosts to Sawyer, Worsley, Minton, and Cra mer, among others, from July to November.

Weekly TV Ski Series Begins Thursday

The Puget Sound area starts a long running weekly ski program titled Ski-Nanny aired on KREM Channel 2 in Spokane and KING-TV in Seattle. Bob Cram hosts a half hour of films and commentary on Pacific Northwest ski areas with Schweitzer Basin highlighted for a February date.
