VFEW Observes Veteran’s Day With Local Activities
The VFW Post 2453 and Auxiliary held events for Veteran’s Day in Sandpoint. Harry McCurdy addressed Kootenai school students while Mrs Albright instructed flag etiquette. The group visited Hope for a Civic Club luncheon and later packaged care items for Viet Nam servicemen. A 6:30 p.m. dinner at the VFW Home will close the observances with speakers and song.

Sandpoint Junior High to Stage Evening Concert
The Sandpoint Junior High School band and choirs perform at 7 30 p m tonight with a program ranging from spirituals to Beethoven. Seventh Grade choir directed by Mrs Dana Meehan features The Old Hall Clock The Gay Mountaineers and Canoe Song. Ninth and Seventh Grade choirs sing Peace I leave with You Lonely Gathered Banua and Didn t Me Land Deliver Daniel. The Junior High Band directed by Dale Lange opens with German Dance by Beethoven, arranged by Gordon. Other band pieces include The Green Cathedral Swing Low Sweet Chariot Poor Wayfaring Stranger Tropical Twilight and a combined finale God Bless America.

Man Fined and Served Suspension After Sandpoint Fight
Gerald Hunt received a 25 dollar fine and a 30 day county jail sentence both suspended on the condition he not return to the county for six months. He was escorted to the state line and released by Bonner County sheriff's officers after a disturbance charge tied to a residence fight near Sandpoint last week.

Intruders Take Income Tax Papers at Kootenai Residence

Civic Club Bazaar A Success Says All County Event Best Ever
The Sandpoint Civic Club's All County Bazaar, started in 1963, drew hundreds of shoppers over two days and raised more money than any previous year with 37 booths and proceeds of 372.90 from table rentals plus booth profits. A judge saw a suit sold to a jail inmate via a county employee.

A $200 reward for information leading to arrests and convictions of burglars or vandals of waterfront property in Bonner County was announced by the Bonner County Shoreline Property Owners and Taxpayers Protective Assn Inc at its annual Sandpoint meeting.
