Jury To Reconvene In Hofmeister Homicide Probe

California Slaying Details Tied to Mendocino Case
Two Mendocino County men, Larry Eldon Phillips and Milton LeRoy Phillips, 28 and 38, were arrested in the Priest River area on California murder warrants linked to the January 7 1973 rape murder of Barbara Stroud 18 of Willits. S.O. Probes Items Theft Near Jewell Lake Road
Bonner County Sheriff investigates about $2,000 missing building materials from a site one mile east of Jewell Lake Road on Dufort Road. Items stolen from John E. Ford of Pendleton Oregon include 80 siding sheets 50 bales insulation, particle board and wiring. Also reported burglaries include a cabin break in at John Burdette’s Phoenix Arizona home a brass bed guitar silverware and other goods valued $300 to $500. Additional thefts involve Walter Merritt of Sandpoint losing $60 tools while fishing and two adding machines from Club Rio Priest River.
