Second Robbery Suspect Nabbed In Sandpoint Case

Seattle police arrested Ben Cole, 20, in connection with the May 5 abduction and beating of Gene Palmer, a Sandpoint resident. Cole faces robbery and second degree kidnapping charges and is being held on a 10,000 bond as extradition proceeds.

No Oversupply Seen By Eastern Washington North Idaho Hay Experts

United Press International reports county extension agents in Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho expect no hay oversupply this summer. Several counties note reduced alfalfa acreage and lower yields due to the 1972 73 freeze and last summer drought, offset by some grain hay plantings. Predictions range from about 60 to 70 percent of normal in parts of Northern Idaho.

Comprehensive changes ordered at Expo Exhibit

Governor Andrus ordered major revisions to Idaho’s exhibit at the 1974 World’s Fair after near universal public dissatisfaction. A large underground miner sculpture from Coeur d’Alene was delivered and will be relocated as the redesign proceeds. Environmental Concerns Inc. will lead the redesign with hostesses to assist visitors, following advice from exhibit managers.

Storcheff Pay Plan Gives State Workers At Least 2 Percent Raise

Boise Idaho—State employees will receive a minimum two per cent pay increase starting July 1, with the Storcheff plan guiding the raises. Personnel Director Dick Barrett said funds exist to cover the minimum rise, though some grades gain more under the Storcheff framework. A new composite plan ensures all classified workers get at least two per cent or the Storcheff rate, whichever is higher.
