Dogs Poisoned in Kootenai County Struck By Suspected Poisonings

In Kootenai over 12 days six of Elsa Stuck's eight dogs were poisoned with five dying. Neighbor Leanna White reports a dog found dead last month. Sheriff deputy Pemberton notes investigations ongoing and cites Idaho law classifying dog poisoning as a misdemeanor with possible prison time.

Severe regional storm causes widespread outages in Pacific Northwest

A major storm battered eastern Washington and northern Idaho causing power failures across multiple utilities. The Cabinet Gorge and Chief Joseph dams tripped, rolling outages affected up to six hours, and a 50 foot transmission line in Colfax collapsed. Spirit Lake Rathdrum Bonner County and Sandpoint reported outages as storms lashed the region with winds up to 60 mph.

Sandpoint Council Cuts Parking Fees and Sets New Rates

The Sandpoint City Council, by a 4 to 1 vote, lowered parking lot rates from 50 cents to 25 cents daily and set monthly fees based on spaces rented. Tenants paying for five to nine spaces will pay 4.50, and ten or more spaces 4 per month, effective on a five day week.

Bonner County School Board Plans 1976-77 Calendar

Bonner County School District 82 trustees meet at 8 pm in the Farmin School Cafeteria to discuss facilities, a statewide testing program for 4th 8th and 11th grades, the 1976-77 calendar, exceptional children services, personnel actions, budget items, and board meeting dates. The testing program is state funded and voluntary with Priest River and Stidwell participation.

Seven Bonner County educators explained district Special Services programs at a Parents Advisory Council meeting in Farmin School Cafeteria. Speakers described referral processes parental permission and individualized LD hearing retarded and pre vocational programs with emphasis on mainstreaming and progress testing.
