Puppets Featured in K and K Kapers Show at Panida

The second annual K and K Kapers at the Panida Theater showcases Scott Rhodes puppets in a specially written skit. Rhodes, 29, trained in Monterey and Sandpoint, plans his own puppet troupe, street shows, and birthday events after moving from Montana. The event also features T Bone Blue, Dennis Coats, Adrian Wilson, Dr. Arthur Fairchild, and Mac McAlister with other surprises promised.

University of Idaho students outline plans for Sandpoint city beach

Student architects from the University of Idaho presented an ideas package at New Farmington School detailing an ideal city beach park with active and passive recreation plus new pedestrian walkways, shade trees, and surfacing changes. They proposed two facility options including a cultural recreation center at the old fairgrounds or remodeling the Jr High School, with estimated costs around 1.5 million dollars for the fairgrounds concept.

Idaho Bicentennial seeks $50,000 federal funds

Idaho Bicentennial Commission asks Congress and Governor to obtain $50,000 from the federal historic preservation fund after missing last year's deadline. Chairman Tony Park says letters and talks seek a waiver. funds would reimburse state spending on Cataldo Mission restoration and other projects with no strings attached once approved.

Ted Williams western resource manager for Potlatch Corp in Lewiston Idaho was elected president of the Inland Forest Resource Council. John R. St Paul Will Insure Idaho Doctors in Malpractice Coverage

St Paul Fire and Marine Insurance will provide medical malpractice coverage for 500 Idaho doctors whose Argonaut policies are dropped in June. President Waverly G. Smith said Idaho conditions and legislation favoring malpractice coverage allow an exception, with approval from Idaho Insurance Commissioner Monroe Gallaher. The plan targets doctors insured by Argonaut and new practitioners, and includes meetings with the Idaho Medical Association to explain rates. The Legislature recently set caps on malpractice awards and defined informed consent under the new rules.

Youth Hurt In Accident At City Tracks

Monte Jim Russell an 18 year old from Sagle sustained minor injuries when his vehicle went over three sets of railroad tracks on Florence Ave just north of the Dover Highway. Police say the car’s front end collapsed and speed was too fast.
