Snowmobile Mishap Injures Man Above Roman Nose Lake

Ralph Wyatt of Sandpoint was pinned to a tree by a snowmobile during a sidehill mishap near Roman Nose Lake in the Ruby Creek Drainage. He was pulled free by fellow snowmobilers and transported by ambulance to Bonner County General Hospital where doctors monitor possible broken ribs and contusions. Rescue teams from Forest Service and sheriffs aided in the effort and urged riders to travel in pairs and improved search and rescue coordination.

Pre Registration Set For Thursday at Farmin School

Parents of children entering first grade in the Farmin School area are invited to attend pre registration in the school cafeteria on Thursday May 7 at 1 00 p m. Bring birth certificates and meet first grade teachers. Principal J A Naccarato will present a preschool bulletin and answer questions. A PTA talk by Mrs Betty Mott and health program remarks by Mrs Carol Hall are included along with a coffee hour for parents.

Arson Suspected After Lewiston Fire Destroys Vehicles

Early today a Lewiston Idaho fire destroyed 26 vehicles in the National Guard armory motor pool and damaged a Navy ROTC room at the University of Idaho Moscow. Officials say arson is suspected as a cause with explosions reported. losses include 18 five ton trucks and five ton and a half ton trucks, totaling about 250000 dollars.

Tackle Firm Giving Award At Fish Fete

Kamloops and Kokanee Week features the Golden Treble Award presentation by Tackle International at the Sandpoint Eagles Club for outstanding community service. Russ Hunter says the firm has presented the award for four years since relocating from Spokane. Previous winners include Jim Parsons, Ross Hall, Dale Strecker, and Leo Hadley.
