The K and K Week Committee announces a weekly luncheon on Tuesday at noon in the Pastime Panhandle Room. The program committee states the meeting plans the first week of fishing and K and K Week events with prizes and activities. Newswriters and broadcasters from the Pacific Northwest are invited for a one day fishing trip sponsored by the Lake Pend Oreille Club.
Boise and Idahoans purchased 1.8 million dollars in U S series E to H savings bonds during January and February. The two month total represented 20.9 percent of Idaho's 1972 savings goal of 8.5 million dollars.
Representatives from McCarter and Tuller Needles Bergendorf, a Seattle Boise firm, will visit Sandpoint on Tuesday March 28 to discuss relocating US 95 along Sand Creek with county planners. They seek current and planned Sand Creek uses including boating and fishing and have requested Idaho University study and Bonner County Comprehensive Plan data.
Sandpoint High School presents a drill team and variety show in Bullody gym Monday and Tuesday. The program, titled Hees Knees and Vee Sees a, features a parody skit inspired by All in the Family and includes performances by the Ponderettes sponsored group. Miss Marianne Brown says the 1930s style description reflects the performances’ quality, with new acts like Mark Evans, 16, adding popular guitar numbers.
Robie Robert Burt 19 Seattle was arrested for speeding by Assistant Chief Willard Piehl and fined 250 dollars before 1 40 Sunday. Less than an hour later at 2 30 a m his car overturned into a ditch after failing to keep to the basic rule. Investigator William H Dorn said he was eastbound on State Highway 200 near Dover Bridge traveling too fast for the curve when the vehicle veered onto the shoulder and flipped onto its top in the ditch.
Mrs. Gordon Miner of Wallace is elected interim Idaho State Republican chairman succeeding Roland Wilbert of Lewiston who resigned earlier this year. She will serve until the State Republican Convention in Boise June 16 17 when a permanent chairman is chosen by the committee.
Ban ner County Planning and Zoning Commission withheld approval for Ray Raineri’s revised Paradise View Estates road plan. Officials require easement talks with Burlington Northern and a formal plat showing the new road before any decision, while Raineri plans a private road if not approved. Dick Tucker’s preliminary Garf ield Bay land plan also received tentative nod.
Idaho Fish and Game announces a $1 bear tag with report card required in select areas for the 1973 spring bear season. Only one tag per license. tags numbered serially like deer and elk. Bears harming livestock may be taken at any time.
