Bonner County Seeks Bids To Dredge Sand Creek Mouth

Bonner County Commissioners call for sealed bids to dredge the Sand Creek mouth where it enters Lake Pend Oreille. Work includes excavating to 2048 feet in a 62 by 800 foot area, with dragline use and sediment disposal in deep water. Estimated $9,000 funding from state federal local waterways monies. Bids open April 11 at 11 a.m. Plans available at the county engineer’s office.

Idaho First District lawmakers show strong attendance in 1974 session

Idaho legislators posted high attendance with Sen. Kermit Kiebert leading at 99 percent and tied for top in the Senate. House members Marion Davidson and Don Maynard stood at 92 and 90 percent respectively, while Reed Budge had the best Senate record with one missed roll call. Morgan Munger and Ray Infanger achieved perfect House attendance. the 85 year history tabulation notes overall Senate 91 percent and House 84 percent.

Kootenai Posse Seeks AG Probe Of Arrest Attempt

Hayden Lake posse leader Richard G. Butler asks Attorney General Wayne Kidwell to investigate an aborted citizen's arrest on a Post Falls officer March 12 and to convene a citizens grand jury. Butler alleges armed force opposed unarmed citizens and seeks felony review. A meeting is set for April 2 in Community Hall.
