Slowdown On For Tax Relief

He favors removing the grocery sales tax, with other bills pending including a permanent $15 grocery credit costing about $3.25 million annually unless funded from surplus.

Weather mixed with a bomb scare at Sandpoint Junior High forced a 35 minute evacuation. Police investigated the call received at 8 55 a m and searched the building with no explosive found. It was the third such incident this year and authorities checked attendance records to identify any student absent.

Man Injured On Motorcycle In Sandpoint Collision
A Sandpoint man, Gerald D. Misner, 20, was injured yesterday when his motorcycle struck the rear of a truck on Baldy Road. The truck was driven by Ronald Bostock, 38, who was turning left. Misner remains stable and the investigation continues.

Embargo Lift Not That Good For Idahoans
Idaho residents should not expect quick relief from gasoline shortages or prices after the Arab oil embargo is lifted. Federal official Scott Clark said the higher Middle East exports will take six to eight weeks to reach U S refineries and stations unless released from current reserves.

Man Killed In Freak Mishap At Daughter’s Home
Howard Hensley 64 of Spirit Lake died Sunday when the car he lay under rolled over him while he was unthawing frozen brakes with a torch. The incident happened at his daughter Mrs James Porter’s home. funeral services are pending. He is survived by his wife Marianne a daughter a mother three brothers a sister and four grandchildren.
