Massive Peru mining camp buried after landslide flooding near Lima
A massive landslide triggered by heavy rains sent hillside debris into Lake Yanahuin in Pasco, northeast of Lima, wiping out a Chungar Mining Co camp and burying installations under floodwaters. Police said up to 600 miners may be dead, with 50 to 70 hospitalized as rescue operations continue eight to nine hours from the capital.
