Idaho Legislature Near End of First Session
The 41st Idaho Legislature nears adjournment as members face lengthy calendars. The Joint-Finance-Appropriations panel projects FY 1972 General Fund at about 125 million, roughly 4 million under Gov Andrus request. House bills include repealing local tax limiting percentages and funding 75 percent of public school costs from state sources. Senate actions center on tax changes, consumer credit code, surface mining reclamation, and higher education fees up to 200 per semester for institutional fees.
