Man Charged After Breakin at Hal's Texaco
A Coeur d'Alene man, Donald A. Shaffer, 46, was arrested by Sandpoint police after a break in at Hal's Texaco 415 Cedar Saturday afternoon. He posted a $5,000 bond set by Judge Don Swanstrom. Entry was made by breaking a south side window. A separate LDS Church break in occurred between noon and 8 p.m. with no items missing.

A 27 year old Sandpoint man William F Kennedy was killed when his motorcycle collided with a pickup on U S 2 near Westwood Condominiums. Peter G Berghan also of Sandpoint was headed east and turning left. autopsy ordered to determine death cause. Kennedy, born November 26 1946 in Spokane, was a Kennedy Development Co. associate.
