Bonner County adds 13 CETA VI jobs as 12 labor posts and one clerk position join the program. Total CETA VI hires reach about 74 with roughly 126000 dollars in county funds through May. Veterans receive 48 hour priority before non veterans start Wednesday.
Pend Oreille County authorities search for three men after Deputy Dennis Cosett was shot in the left shoulder while stopping a late model car between Ione and Metaline Falls. A dark green Dodge Charger is sought and the suspects are believed to have two handguns and a shotgun.
The Sandpoint Planning and Zoning Commission discussed adopting a comprehensive plan and releasing new zoning ordinances for public meetings. Chairman Clarence Reed favored reviewing ordinances in small groups, while Bud Benoit Ozzie Vallieres and Dick Ammerman noted revisions and multiple meetings may be needed before a council review.

Two injured in Friday crash when an automobile driven by Harvey M Bishop struck a runaway horse about 10 miles east of here on State Highway 200. Chris M Howell 12 riding the horse was thrown into a snow bank and Sally Bishop 57 a passenger in the car had minor injuries. The horse was euthanized.
Seh. James McClure announced Friday that a $3000 Environmental Protection Agency grant has been awarded to the Garfield Bay Sewer District for Step I Wastewater Treatment project.
The Idaho Transportation Department reminds haulers to observe spring breakup load and speed restrictions in the five northern counties. Under Idaho Code 49-906 the board may limit vehicle size or weight if conditions risk road damage or unsafe travel. Signs will mark limits at ends of restricted sections. restrictions start February in elevation zones and may run through May. Restrictions include 350 pounds per inch tire width, 14,000 pounds per axle, and 10,000 pounds on front axles with 10 inch tires.
