Youth Hurt In Cycle Accident Near Garfield Bay
A 14 year old Sandpoint youth was treated and released from Bonner General Hospital after a motorcycle collision with a car on Green Bay Road near Garfield Bay. Sheriff Wilcox said the youth struck a vehicle driven by Michael D. Dawson 21 of Sandpoint after braking on a graveled downhill, reversing and hitting the Dawson car approaching from the opposite direction. The youth was cited for failure to purchase a license. In a second incident Carol Ann Stopp 34 of Spokane lost control after a bee sting, her car veered off the road into a field. she was not injured.

Two thefts reported to Sandpoint Police over the weekend. About 100 dollars in motorcycle parts were stolen from a garage. County Dogs Control Plan Teed Up By Vet Morton
Bonner County Commissioners heard a five point county wide dog control proposal from Sandpoint veterinarian Dr. William Morton. The plan calls for a dog license tax to fund a new facility with public humane society oversight eventual. Morton estimates about 3000 dogs at two dollars yearly. A six person advisory board and bid based veterinary care are proposed with central or multi location facilities and future funded operations. Commissioner Popplewell noted the board will study the proposal.

Possession Nets Arrests In Hayden Lake
A Hayden Lake man Michael E. Chisholm, 20, was arrested by the Bonner County Sheriff's Office last Saturday on charges of drunk in public destruction of public property and possession of a controlled substance. He posted $800 bond later that afternoon. Two juveniles aged 14 and 16 were also arrested for possession of a controlled substance and were released on their own recognizance. They were to appear in court this morning.

Houses Burglarized Along Pend Oreille River
Two houses about one mile west of Laclede along the Pend Oreille River were burglarized over the weekend. Sheriff Robert Wilcox reported a vacant Norma Neumayer Missoula Montana home lost a refrigerator three mattresses and a bedstead. A propane stove stove regulator and 10 feet of copper tubing were stolen from the neighboring residence.
