Stanton Refuses to Turn Over Document Film Material
Washington CBS President Frank Stanton refuses to hand over documentary material for The Selling of the Pentagon to a House subcommittee led by Rep Harley Staggers. Sandpoint Man In Serious Condition After Butane Truck Crash
William Cook 37 of Sandpoint remains unconscious and in serious condition at Community Hospital in Bonners Ferry after a Monday afternoon crash on U S 95 near Rock Creek Hill. His truck, carrying liquid butane, ruptured its tank and leaked gas prompting a six hour highway closure. Cook, an employee of Petro-Lane Kootenai Co, was southbound when he lost control, crossed the highway, spun and rested 180 feet north. His wife Irene and he own Pine Tree Art Gallery. investigators noted unclear if he exited prior to impact. Traffic and safety officials discussed grade crossing issues and potential overpasses to ease Sandpoint area congestion. Also noted, three London hotel doormen resigned over parking rights and placed aTimes ad bidding farewell.

DAV Chapter Seeks Charter Members in Sandpoint

Registration Open For City Swim Lessons Now
Bob Lindsay, Sandpoint superintendent of parks and recreation, announced that city beach swimming lessons are open for registration. Lifeguards will be on duty seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for participants from first grade to adults, with a kiddies program for ages three to six later in the season. The first regular lessons are set for June 28.
