Youths Defy River Warning In Salmon River Tragedy

A six year old girl, Carie Prestwich of North Fork, is missing and presumed drowned upstream near the North Fork area. Authorities report the River danger and drowning incidents.

A 20-year-old Priest River man named Jeffrey S. Peek was arrested by Sandpoint police on auto theft charges after allegedly taking a car in Priest River. He is jailed in Sandpoint on a $5,000 bond after being arrested at a local gas station yesterday.
