Trucker Uninjured After Montanas Brown Killed Crossing Highway
Gerald L. Brown, 32, an American Indian from Poplar Montana, was killed when he ran onto U S 95 in Colburn about 3 35 am. Corwin Arvon Williams, 22, of Spokane driver of a Roundup Grocery truck, attempted evasive action but could not avoid the impact. Brown had been released earlier from Sandpoint Police after questioning about mental illness.

Coordinators To Work Part Time On Off-Year Grant
Senior citizen services coordinators in five northern counties will be kept on a part-time basis for the rest of the year thanks to a 66 407 dollar grant under the Older Americans Act Title VII. Lorenzo Driggs of the Area Agency on Aging in Coeur d Alene said funds will mainly support the nutrition program but part may fund coordinators. BCEA Case Taken Under Advisement in Idaho Court
District Court Judge James Towles took under advisement BCEA motion seeking a court order barring School District No 82 from entering further contracts before negotiations. BCEA President Phil DeBoard expects a ruling in a couple of weeks after May 28 filing. The suit asks the trustees to bargain in good faith and to halt unilateral contracts until a mutually accepted agreement is reached.

Two Juveniles Questioned In Auto Theft
Two Sandpoint youths aged 15 and 13 were questioned about a Sunday car theft and released on their own recognizance. The stolen vehicle belonging to Marjorie Hindberg was found abandoned in mud near Clark Fork before a ride back to Sandpoint with 42 year old Charles Lantto.
