Polled Hereford Breeders Association Formed in Sandpoint
A new cattle breeders group the Polled Hereford Breeders Association was organized Monday night in Sandpoint. Twenty five breeders attended with speakers from the American Polled Hereford Association outlining goals, with Lana Linscott named Director-at-Large for Idaho Montana Washington and Oregon. The next meeting is set for July 20 and a July 29 directors’ gathering will set by laws.

Fatal one car crash near Priest River claims teen life
A fifteen-year-old Spokane youth Jeff Westford died in a one car crash four miles south of Priest River on Old Priest River Road. The accident occurred as he drove over a hill and struck a soft shoulder losing control. Passenger Joe Pierson, 15, escaped uninjured. Westford died at the scene and his body was taken to Sherman Funeral Home in Newport.
