Talent Show Delights Sandpoint Crowd First Pend Oreille Production
Pend Oreille Productions staged its first talent show at Sandpoint High School auditorium drawing over 250 attendees and $140 in gross sales. The program funds summer youth activities and jobs, emceed by Hans Landau with acts by Shiloh's Rangers, The Russ Strange Quartet, and others. Prostitution Ring Reported At Louisiana Truck Stop
Police say the Highway 71 Truck Stop and Cafe in Lemoyne area hosted a prostitution service for truck drivers paying with credit cards. Two women were arrested and released on $1,000 bonds after undercover operation identified ten rooms behind the cafe used for the activity.

Sagle Woman Appointed As Postmaster
The U S Postal Service appointed three Idaho postmasters effective today under the merit system. Mrs LaFaye A Dewey of Sagle in Bonner county south of Sandpoint has served as acting postmaster since October 1966 and brings bookkeeping and stenography experience along with Northwestern Business College Spokane and Sandpoint High School education. Idaho fiddlers will compete for the American old time fiddlers title June 23 24 in Weiser with 15 state and regional winners participating.

Moyie Springs Man Involved In Noninjury Weekend Crash
Charles A. Eddleman 47 of Moyie Springs was in a noninjury accident Saturday morning one mile south of Colburn on U S 95 near the Great Northern overpass. He said he lost control in an S curve, skidded, and struck a guardrail and a railroad signpost. Police cited excessive speed for conditions as the cause.
