The Bonner County School Board voted 32 to approve an 84 day kindergarten program to start February 1 1976 with Trustees Verhei and Beeson in dissent. The vote followed heated remarks from patrons who opposed kindergarten funding and state involvement amid transportation and cost concerns.
The grand jury probing the July 16 death of June Hofmeister will reconvene tomorrow. Prosecuting Attorney Cindy Weiss and Special Prosecutor Thomas Frost of Boise return to the homicide probe, with evidence focused on the strangling and head injury that preceded her death near the Sch weitzer Cutoff Rd.

Idaho Attorney General Wayne Kidwell announced Idaho will join Washington and Montana in a multi state anti trust suit against major fertilizer companies including J R Simplot Co and Simplot Industries Inc. Northwest states push structural changes to curb future abuses and 25 000 mailings will determine participants.
Senior citizens in the Hope Clark Fork area have named a board and filed articles of incorporation to form a senior citizen organization. They seek funding to build or buy a center and multi purpose hall, with no membership fees. Carl Murphy notes. Lorenzo Driggs from the Area Agency on Aging advised on incorporation. city offers Cedar and 10th site on a 49 year lease for 1 dollar monthly. plan a 40 by 60 foot building if no existing structure is purchased.
Northern Idaho remains generally fair through Thursday with diminishing showers and isolated thunderstorms mainly in the mountains. Daytime highs reach the 70s with tonight’s lows in the 40s.
