Changes Announced In ASC Elections
Bonner County ASC Chair Ray Delay reports new procedures to elect community committeemen for the 1970 ASC cycle. Voters sign petitions for nominations, and if six valid petitions arrive the committee cannot add more candidates. by mail ballots will be used in September with new rules permitting three or fewer votes and three members plus two alternates.

Eddie Mapes obituary funeral set for July 23
Funeral services for Eddie Mapes are scheduled Thursday July 23 at 2 p.m. from Moon Chapel with Bishop Earl Noble of the Sandpoint LDS Church officiating. Interment will be at Senéacquoteen Cemetery. Mapes died July 12 in Viet Nam where he had served one month. He was born January 18, 1951 in Sandpoint and lived in the Coeur d'Alene area before joining the Army in 1968. He is survived by his parents Dana Mapes Seattle two half brothers Duane Stockdale in Viet Nam and Charles Stockdale Redmond Washington two half sisters Ann Allen Bonners Ferry and Betty Varney Pocatello and an aunt Mrs. Pete Carter Sandpoint.
