Hatchery Fish Kill Revealed at Clark Fork Hatchery
More than 100 catchable rainbow trout died as water was drained from raceways and ponds at the Clark Fork fish hatchery. Assistant superintendent Steve Dillon said about 120 to 130 fish were lost overnight as crews moved surviving stock to Spring Creek while new brood ponds are built for Dolly Varden and Kamloops eggs.

Lightning Knocks Out Power Across Sandpoint Area
Severe lightning Friday morning caused about 40 scattered outages around Sandpoint. Pacific Power and Light reported 35 outages to its customers with five transformers blown and fuses blown. Northern Lights reported four to six outages with no transformers lost and power expected back by late morning. Some NL customers in Montana, Bonners Ferry, and Priest Lake were reportedly unaffected.
