High winds damage Sandpoint area and Lake Pend Oreille docks
Strong winds caused extensive damage in Sandpoint and around Lake Pend Oreille. A large white pine branch crashed into the Sam Roos family home at Bonner County Fair grounds, while Sandpoint City Beach lost a dock and diving platform. Dock damage affected Kilroy Bay Resort and other structures as power lines fell and feeders were knocked out after a lightning strike near the city.

The Idaho Supreme Court upholds Frank Murphy's conviction for selling beer to a minor. In a majority opinion Justice Charles Donaldson states that a minor who buys beer illegally is not an accomplice to the seller. Murphy was fined 300 dollars and sentenced to 20 days in jail in Bonner County District Court.
