The Ellensburg community notes Marvin Inks a veteran grocery manager with Safeway leads the local city council profile. His son Larry Inks from Portland also carries a strong market background and family roots in the area.
The Albertson's chain expanded from Main Street to a larger main store by 1960 at Boyer Avenue and Dover Highway. In 196? Les Rogers and Marle Rogers announced sale of the business to Marvin Inks of Ellensburg and his son Larry Inks of Portland on July 6, with Gary D'Orazio joining as grocery manager and the new owners pledging to keep local staff and existing policies.
Northern Lights hosts Idaho Cooperative Utilities Association events with leaders from Bonneville Power Portland and Spokane, along with state figures like Harold Anselmo and Jim Brockway. The program includes talks on natural resources and nutrition, an invocation by Reverend John Siemers, a picnic lunch at Sandpoint beach, and prizes.
Ada County deputy sheriffs Jim Miller and Jim Rigney captured escapee Wayne Oursland at 8 30 this morning. Oursland, held in Bonner County Jail after Saturday capture, faces charges of escaping from the Idaho State Penitentiary in Boise.
