Sandpoint Considers Dog Ordinance With Fines and Court Presence
Sandpoint and Bonner County officials discuss a proposed dog ordinance that would require licenses, raise fees to five dollars for neutered pets and ten dollars for any unspayed dog, impose daily boarding charges, and route violations to magistrate court for misdemeanor penalties. The measure, still in discussion, would empower enforcement with a pet control force and possible destruction provisions for diseased animals, though officials warn it remains in early stages and not yet approved.
