Idaho raises reportable accident damage to 250 dollars
Idaho lawmakers increased the reportable accident threshold from 100 to 250 dollars effective yesterday. The change requires immediate notice to police if damage exceeds 250 dollars or if there is injury or death, opposing the common belief that a 24 hour reporting window exists. Sandpoint Police Chief Larry Sterling notes the requirement is immediate reporting by the quickest means of communication.
