Cycle Mishap Injures One at Round Lake State Park
Las Vegas man John R. Reese 26 sustained minor injuries after a motorcycle collided with a car driven by Lorena G. Beck 3 as she slowed to turn left. Reese was cited for overtaking on the left and told trooper Harvey Biffle he did not see the turn signals. Damages to both vehicles were about 150 dollars each. He was treated at Bonner County General Hospital and released.

Sandpoint Man Earns Navy Optics Grade
Pa trick Thomas Nordeen of Sandpoint earned the rank Opticalman 2nd Class in the U S Navy after passing the 2nd Class Petty Officer exam. Nordeen, a submarine periscope repair specialist, attended Great Lakes advanced school and is expected home on leave in August. He is the son of Mr and Mrs William T Nordeen.

Escapee Mantin Oursland Captured Near Wrenco Loop
Mantin W. Oursland, an Idaho State Penitentiary escapee, was captured Saturday at 4 15 p.m. by Bonner County Sheriff's Office and Idaho State Police after a citizen reported a car with him in Wrenco Loop. Sheriff Robert Wilcox flushed him from the brush with warning shots and he was found with an uncooperative vehicle, then taken to Bonner County Jail awaiting transfer to the state penitentiary.
