July 14 at 8 p.m. Dustyne Anderson demonstrates marine painting techniques. July 16 at 2 p.m. Dr Don Bailey gives Development of Art Today with charted critique. July 28 at 8 p.m. Ted Denslow shares easy painting methods. Five of Denslow’s paintings are in the main lobby for July.

Five youths escape injury in Fish Hatchery road crash
Five youths escaped injury when a car driven by 18 year old Byron Earl Johnson of Sagle left the road on Fish Hatchery road at 2 am Wednesday and rolled onto its top. Johnson was cited for inattentive driving after investigators said excessive speed caused the accident.

Reforestation Projects Complete Across Idaho Lands
Paul Dearstyne of the BLM announced completion of reforestation on June 20, covering 119 acres across seven sites on BLM lands from Priest Lake to Clarkia. Contractor Donald W. Styles said 61 000 two year old Douglas firs were planted using stock from the U S Forest Service nursery in Coeur d Alene. Sites chosen for high production and return on lands recently cut over.

Bikes Collide Near Lewiston In Rural Idaho
Billy Al tender of Lewiston Idaho listed in serious condition after a collision between a mini bike and a motorcycle near Sweetwater Camp northeast of Lake Wa ha. Investigating officers cited John Feucht of Clarkston as the other rider in the Tuesday crash.

State Park Week Proclaimed by Governor Andrus
Governor Cecil D. Andrus declared July 1 to July 8 State Park Week in Idaho urging citizens to enjoy nonconsumptive recreation. The proclamation cites 19 state parks and promotes bicycling hiking horseback riding canoeing and sailing to preserve Idaho’s wilderness.

Idaho youths join week long camp aboard Alibi barge
Thirty Indian boys from four Idaho tribes spent a day aboard George Russell's Alibi as part of a North Idaho Youth Camp funded by the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Four more sessions will bring the total to 150 youths. The camp features fishing hiking ecology studies and films on drugs with sponsors including the forest service Vista and Youth Rehabilitation.

Art Center Receives Kresge Grant for Phase One
The University of Idaho in Moscow gets a $100000 grant from the Kresge Foundation to fund phase one of its Performing Arts Center. Bids exceed the $963000 estimate and the university budget, with low bid $1011700 from H Halvorson Inc. of Spokane. Regents meet July 6 7 at Sandpoint to review. President Ernest W Hartung welcomes the gift, saying it will bring the center closer to reality.
