Idaho lawmakers split on land use plan during panel
Eight Idaho legislators spoke at the Association of Idaho Cities panel with Rep. William Onweiler the only one strongly opposing the 1975 land use planning law. Rep. Gary Ingram urged more time to evaluate its effects while Sen. C. C. Chase called for caution. The group also discussed tax reform and funding for cities, with Sen. Mike Mitchell arguing for broader tax collection, and Ingram proposing earmarking part of sales tax to cities without cutting education funding.
