A Switch In Philosophy Stoicheff Reveals Code Proposals
State Senator James Stoicheff of Sandpoint says two amendments to the Criminal Code have been completed and printed. One would make possession of hard narcotics a felony and the other would make a second marijuana offense a felony. He invited Sheriff Robert Wilcox to a January 26 joint House and Senate Judiciary hearing at the State Capitol. Political observers see the move as a shift from his former hard line amid disputes with Bonner County Prosecutor Everett Hofmeister.
