Bonner County coroner Barry Nelson issued a warrant for Ernie Belwood 22 Laclede Idaho after a jury found him responsible for the death of Bernal Oylear Polson Mont in a head on collision five miles east of Priest River on Christmas eve. Belwood testified at the inquest. bond to be set in Sandpoint.

SBA loan activity in eastern WA and N Idaho for 1969
The Spokane District Office of the Small Business Administration reported eighty one loans totaling 4 010 269 to small businesses in eastern Washington and north Idaho in 1969. District Director Schumacher noted 47 regular program loans total 2 822 809 with 83 percent of funds supplied by local banks. Economic opportunity loans grew to 26 loans totaling 332 000 and minority loans reached 13 totaling 187 800. Three disaster loans totaling 181 000 were approved for heavy snow losses.
