Meeting on Farmin School facilities held without quorum

About fifty parents and patrons attended the special board meeting of School District 82 at New Farmin School to discuss providing facilities to close Old Farmin School. With three trustees absent the session focused on reports and Q&A including a December 22 environmental health inspection summary by County Health Officer Jack Ross noting room size per student and other standards.

Frank Murphy of Hope Lounge was found guilty in Judge Burns' Court on January 3 of selling beer to a minor. He was fined $300 and costs of $5.

Belwood Charged In Traffic Death

Bonner County coroner Barry Nelson issued a warrant for Ernie Belwood 22 Laclede Idaho after a jury found him responsible for the death of Bernal Oylear Polson Mont in a head on collision five miles east of Priest River on Christmas eve. Belwood testified at the inquest. bond to be set in Sandpoint.

SBA loan activity in eastern WA and N Idaho for 1969

The Spokane District Office of the Small Business Administration reported eighty one loans totaling 4 010 269 to small businesses in eastern Washington and north Idaho in 1969. District Director Schumacher noted 47 regular program loans total 2 822 809 with 83 percent of funds supplied by local banks. Economic opportunity loans grew to 26 loans totaling 332 000 and minority loans reached 13 totaling 187 800. Three disaster loans totaling 181 000 were approved for heavy snow losses.

Norma Strecker reports a Bonner County rule requiring a Building Permit Application from the County Assessor for any structure costing over 500 dollars outside city limits but within the county. Effective January 1, 1970, forms are available now, with a 2 dollar fee credited to the expense fund.

Bob Hamilton Joins Daily Bee Sports Staff

The Daily Bee announces Bob Hamilton, 38, joins the sports staff to cover area sports events. He resides in the Jewel Lake area with wife Ruth and four children and has taught English and journalism at Sandpoint High School since 1962. He has long distributed Inland Empire sports news and served as official statistician for Sandpoint High School football and basketball.
