Pharmacists Sell High Price Drugs Across Markets
A UPI report notes consumers could save about half on prescription antibiotics if pharmacists used the cheapest brands. The CEP argues lower priced options are often unavailable due to big drug firms controlling the market with expensive brands. The study cites erythromycin and tetracycline price spreads and warns much of the higher price is passed to consumers, while industry leaders contest reducing pharma to a mere commodity.
