Kootenai County Seeks Sheriff Candidates
Kootenai County Democratic Central Committee will interview sheriff applicants on Wednesday to select a replacement for John Bender who resigned to become state commissioner of law enforcement. Chairman Lew Bignall notes the committee will recommend one candidate to the county commissioners. Charles Huber and Stanley Johnson are named as contenders. Huber is chief deputy and endorsed by Bender, Johnson leads the criminal investigation division.
