Derailment Delays Traffic on U S 95 in Bonner County
Fifteen Burlington Northern freight cars derailed at 8 10 a m Sunday at the Elmira east switch in Bonner County. Some lumber spilled onto U S 95 blocking traffic briefly while investigators pursue three or four possible causes. The Seattle to Chicago train was en route with engineer S L Cook aboard. line cleared shortly after midnight but long cleanup ahead.

Grant Rate Expanded for Bonner County Projects
Bonner County joins Benewah and part of Shoshone as one of three counties eligible for an 80 percent grant rate for EDA funded public works disaster projects.
