Firemen battle Spokane hotel blaze near Expo site
Fire crews of 63 men and 14 units fought the Coeur d Alene Hotel fire for about 30 minutes to gain control after an early morning blaze. The 70 year old hotel, undergoing Expo preparations, suffered damage to upper floors roof penthouse and elevator shaft with smoke and flames seen into the day. One firefighter Mark Phillips was slightly injured by falling debris and treated at Sacred Heart Medical Center.
