Waterfowl Inventory Timed in Idaho Amid Snowbound Spring
Idaho conducts its midwinter migratory waterfowl inventory January 8 to 12 1973 with US Fish and Wildlife Service cooperation. Snow and freezing lakes reduce ducks and geese numbers from last year though tons of birds formerly counted exceed half a million. Whitefish winter fishing remains popular with a 50 fish daily limit and near year round season. Nonconsumptive cougar permits available at no cost from state and regional Fish and Game offices with free distribution planned January 1973.
