General Telephone Company paid over 395000 in first half 1969 70 property taxes to nine Idaho counties. Bonner County received 48730. The second half next June will bring total Bonner County taxes to about 97460. County tax total for the company will exceed 791689, up 27.5 percent from last year.

A 43 year old man with terminal emphysema received a heart and lungs transplant on Christmas Day at New York Hospital. The 3 hour 13 minute operation used the heart and lungs from a 50 year old female donor. Both donor and recipient names are withheld per family request. the prior case was Dr Denton Cooley's Houston success with Debra Lynn Lee.

Man Dies In Head-On Crash In Thama Rock Cuts
A two car head on collision on Highway 2 in the Thama Rock Cuts west of Laclede killed Bernal Oylear 50 Polson Montana and injured Barbara his wife and Ernest Belwood 22 Laclede Idaho. Investigating Idaho State Patrol officer Don Fiedler said both cars were demolished and traffic was halted over an hour.
