Firemen Respond to Two Saturday House Blazes
Fire Chief Wade Brown reported two minor fires Saturday causing light damage and one hospitalization. The first blaze at 718 Church began around 6 45 p m and was linked to a torch used to thaw frozen pipes. Mrs Marion Hemberg was taken to Bonner General Hospital after collapsing. The second fire at 409 Lavina in a Judith Beaudet home centered in the ceiling between floors and was blamed on vent lint. damage was slight.

Fire Suspected From Overheated Stove Pipe Fatal for Two Boys
Spokane fire investigators conclude an overheated stove pipe started the early Sunday blaze that killed Ricky Thomas Lange seven and Keven Lee Lange five in their northside home. The brothers, sons of Mr and Mrs Thomas Neil Lange, were asleep in an upstairs bedroom when the fire broke out shortly before six. Efforts to rescue them failed.
