The Idaho Department of Commerce and Development announces the 1971 Idaho Manufacturer's Directory, listing over 900 plants with three sections alphabetical geographical and product. It includes firm names addresses owners phones SIC numbers and export notes. The directory sells for 3.00 plus 9 cents tax and can be ordered from Lloyd D. Howe in Boise.

Sandpoint Chamber Meets. Film on Consumer Credit Shown

The Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce held a meeting at the Elks Club where a 30 minute film titled There ought to be a law outlined credit problems and solutions, criticizing high interest lenders and door to door sales. President Wayne Goin urged local credit buying for protection. He urged support for the Panhandle Child Development Association collecting donations for two centers in Sandpoint and Kellogg Wallace. The Sandpoint FFA chapter plans a Christmas tree sale at the Co Op Gas and Supply on weekends to raise funds.

Post Office Imposes 300 Mile Newspaper Embargo

The U S Postal Service ordered an embargo on moving newspapers magazines ads and parcel post beyond 300 miles from origin effective 4 p m Wednesday. Postmaster General Winton M Blount cited an imminent rail strike and said the action would allow offices to clear decks for expected mail congestion.

Tree order forms now available at County Agents Office

Extension agricultural agent Raynold Davis announced tree order forms are available at the County Agent's Office in Sandpoint for woodland planting this spring. He urged interested owners to pick up, complete, and mail the forms to the University of Idaho. Most tree varieties are available in quantities from hundreds to thousands. Davis also noted copies of the 1971 Farmer's Pax Guide are at the Court house office.

Board to Request Bids for School Demolitions

The Board of Trustees for School District 82 authorized bidding for the demolition of Old Priest River Elementary and Old Farmin School in Sandpoint. Both buildings on their parcels are for sale but have attracted no offers. Bids for furniture for New Farmin and Southside Schools were also let, with Educators Corporation submitting the low bid. A delegation from Idaho Hill School requested improvements, while Transportation Director Ken Holt won approval for two of three bus transport requests, including a written release from liability for Cecil Knowles to use a private road for student pickups.

Honors Two Jaycees Named Outstanding Young Men of America

The Sandpoint Jaycees announced Bill Hiatt and Chet Howell as selections for inclusion in the 1970 edition of Outstanding Young Men of America. Nominated earlier by the Jaycee chapter, the honorees were chosen for significant achievements. Doug Blankenship, former U.S. Jaycee president, chairs the Board of Advisory Editors and lauded the group for distinguished endeavors.

Mrs Jennestad Dies Tuesday At 82 In Sandpoint

Funeral services for Hannah I Jennestad 82 are set for Saturday December 12 at 11 a.m. from First Lutheran Church with Rev Orville Grorud officiating. Interment Pinecrest Memorial Park. Survived by husband Ole two daughters Edith Jennestad Sandpoint and Helen Lovaas Port Angeles Washington and two granddaughters Sharron and Pamela Lovaas. Memorials to First Lutheran Church mission department requested.
