Eight Hurt In Two Car Crash East Of Kootenai

Two cars collided on Highway 200 about 1 a m Sunday two miles east of Kootenai injuring eight people with injuries ranging from minor to critical. Alice Carpenter 44 Newport Wash in critical condition and Frank Mauro 47 Priest River in fair condition were occupants of the car driven by Eugene Carpenter.

Alaska mining to lead next industry boom says official

Dale Wallington of Alaska's Department of Natural Resources told 1 600 Northwest Mining Association delegates that oil and other minerals could spur a new Alaska mining boom. He cautioned about arctic extraction challenges like permafrost, severe weather, and high transport costs while urging early action to gain profits.

Commodities Available in Sandpoint from Agriculture Aid

Distribution of commodities donated by the Department of Agriculture will be held for those certified as eligible on December 15 and 16 at the Bonner County Fairgrounds in Sandpoint. Applications to receive commodities may be made at the Idaho Department of Public Assistance, Rivers ide Building, Sandpoint.

Hunt Dates Are Extended in Idaho Central and Eastern Units

Idaho Fish and Game says six hunting units in central and eastern Idaho will stay open for elk and deer through Dec. 14. Units 25 26 27 75 remain open for both species, while deer only units include the South Fork Payette 33 35 and 50 76. Post season deer hunts in Skyline Ridge Swan Valley units 66 67 run through Dec. 21. harvests are below last year’s records.
