Second Longest Delay In Apollo 17 Launch
UPI notes the Apollo 17 launch faced a two hour and 40 minute delay, the longest since Gemini 6’s three day postponement in 1965. Gemini 6 delays stemmed from a rocket malfunction shortly after ignition, the era’s longest among 27 manned flights starting with Shepard’s May 1961 suborbital.
