Sandpoint police and Bonner County deputies investigate a burglary at the Sandpoint Cheese Factory where about $20,000 in cash coins checks and valuables were taken after burglars pried open a front office safe. The break in occurred last night through a north side window and the culprits exited via a rear door.

Beta Sigma Phi Leads Toys for Tots Drive With $100 Gift

Beta Sig 100 Lambda Chapter XP895 contributed 100 to the Toys for Tots campaign, boosting the total to 209. The donation, the largest this year, will fund toy purchases and food baskets for county families. A December 15 deadline remains for additional gifts. Daily toy donations are accepted 1 to 3 p.m. at the old fairgrounds. Contributions can be made via Bob Glock at Sandpoint Motors, Roger Lubbers at Evergreen Ford, Lee Mahler at Bank of Idaho, or the Daily Bee.

Two Men Shot In Separate Mishaps Over Weekend

Bonner County investigators report two weekend shooting incidents. Richard Breeden was shot in the left hand and right shoulder with a 234 Winchester near Clark Fork and later transferred for surgery. John A. Thompson of Post Falls was struck in the back by a .22 while in a pickup near Way. his condition was listed as satisfactory.
