Traffic accidents marred the Thanksgiving weekend as heavy snow trapped motorists. Six people were injured in a two car crash near Careywood on U S 95 when Kenneth I Maike of Spokane lost control at about 65 mph, skidding 150 feet into Gene N Riggs of Moscow.

All Bonner County schools closed due to heavy snow with reopening expected tomorrow unless snow recurs. County road crews plowed District One and Two last night and began District Three at 5 am. most roads opened to one-way traffic. Snow totals reached 10 inches at Sandpoint Airport. A multi-vehicle collision injured the Riggs family and Maike, with hospital admissions and varying damages cited. Other non injury and weather related incidents reported, including snowplow visibility issues on Fish Hatchery Road and a one car rollover near Clark Fork with $1500 damage.
