Car Raised From Granite Lake By Sheriff Divers
Two Bonner County deputy sheriffs under Sheriff Bob Wilcox spent eight hours diving in near freezing water to recover a stolen car believed to have plunged into Granite Lake early Saturday. The vehicle was found at 60 feet via a 5 lb pull magnet by Deputy Bill Rice who surfaced injured by cold and pressure. No body was recovered. officers suspect no one was in the car. The wreck was raised near the site of a prior drowning. Assisting were Keith Hawn of Idaho Fish and Game. Weather: showers and thundershowers, highs 65-75 today, cooler Wednesday.
