Spokane man arrested after Hope single car crash
Jerry L. Harris 28 of Spokane was charged with DUI and driving on a suspended license after a high speed wreck on State Highway 200 near Hope. Two Oregon girls from Tillamook, Linda Kyzner 16 and Sigrid Sather 17, narrowly escaped being struck as Harris’ car overturned over 100 feet and rested on a stump. Harris suffered minor injuries and was treated at Bonner General Hospital before being released. He remains jailed in Bonner County on $350 bond.

Big Creek Fire Crews Contain 1020 Acre Idaho Blaze
Fire crews brought the 1020 acre Big Creek area blaze under control late Sunday east of McCall in the Payette National Forest. About 235 firefighters worked terrain near the Middle Fork of the Salmon River after starting last Thursday at a boat landing. A firefighter was hurt at the Soldier Bar airstrip while a parachute incident occurred during a cargo drop. Lightning sparked 18 new fires in Boise and Payette National Forest lands, all of which were controlled by Sunday.
